A Chinese proverb goes like this: A thousand miles journey starts with a single step. Taking a journey in an online business, also starts with a single step. But we want to take care that we take the straightest road to our destination, our goal.
A careful, most certainly tedious, yet indispensable preparation, precedes the steps to a successful business online. If not, it will be like guessing the road and, we may find ourselves at the starting point again. Going in circles is what most of us, if not everybody falls into at one point or another. Its a trap that can be avoided, if we pay attention to our reason, rather than our emotions.
You certainly know where you are. youve got to know. But what do you want? It seems a senseless question, but how many people dont know exactly what they want? If you think of it, if everybody knew what to do with their life early on, all it would be left would be to come up with a plan to just go for it.
At this point, I want to assume that the destination (goal) is clear in your mind, so heres In 5 steps a proven and tested method to succeed online.
1 Find a Market (niche). Its where there are a group of people with similar interests. Although some suggest to dig deeper into micro niches, you must realize that then the market becomes smaller. That means less buyers. It is true that there is generally less competition, still you have to dominate in order to win a good share and come out with good profits. On the other hand in a big or mega market, where there are more buyers, regardless of competition, you can always find a way to make money. Also, in a good size market, there are most of the time related products to the original one you choose that you can further promote. For example: in the health market after a diet program, you can recommend an excercise program, and a self-help program.
2 Choose a product (or service) A simple way to select a product, is to make a search on Google. Look for millions. Higher the number higher the demand. So far that is a good sign. But to feel confident, look further. look for answers to questions like:
Are people advertising? Does the product have affiliates? That is also a good sign. Are they any PPC ads (Google adwords), even better. Nobody will risk consistently without results. Are they any articles or ebooks written about the product? You know that nobody writes without a purpose.
3 Devise a strategy That is the way you want to reach your market. here is where things can get out of control. The fact is that there are many choices. You should take into consideration especially two factors here.
One: that buying at first sight is rare ( ads, banners, emails, pop-ups) Its OK, but this is a one time event. Problem is that you have to keep up working to repeat the sales and you cant count on steady results.
Two: there is a way to work once instead and get paid many times. That is a much preferable alternative. An automated system will do just that. That is in fact what most people expect from an internet business. The method is a follow-up email sequence. When you gain contact emails, your follow-up messages will do the job of winning the confidence and trust of your prospects. So making sales becomes easy. Even better, you then retain a list of buyers to whom you can further advertise.
4 Capture your visitors The best way to gain email addresses is with a squeeze page, a simple one page ad. You can use video or text. In doubt, stick with text. Your ad must be above the fold. That means that when visitors go to your page they can see the whole story right away, without scrolling. Your headline is important. It must get the attention. Even at this starting point of your strategy, dont make promises you cant keep. Make your case believable. Some kind of gift is expected in exchange. So have a gift related, that is in harmony with your product. For example in the case of a diet program, a report on walking to lose weight would be appropriate.
You dont want to tell the whole story in your squeeze page. You dont have the space anyway. The idea is to keep it brief arousing curiosity. A few bullet points with benefits must be included. Last, a call to action with a simple: click here or subscribe will do. As your visitors will entrust you with their email address, reassure them of their privacy.
5 Traffic -Without it, you dont exist. There are many free ways to drive traffic to your squeezepage . But some are a complete waste of time. For quicker results, if you can, mix some free with paid methods. Dont fall for some miracle promising results. You may get what youve been promised, but the quality, not the quantity is what counts. For example one million (exaggerating) of freebie seekers, wont do you any good. Even though you offer a freebie in your squeeze page, you get better quality when you’re advertising to your interested target market I recommend you read the free report: The Truth About Traffic. Itll go in details and explain why not all traffic is created equal and what are the good sources of traffic and the ones just wasting your time and money.
The steps are simple and they make sense, I am sure you agree. I dont want to say they are easy, as they require careful attention. But, once you have those steps in place, you can be confident that youll reach your goal. I dont claim it is a perfect system, but none is. Marketing is always a risk. But this method has been proven to work and bringing results.
I can assure you that with following these 5 steps strategy, you implement a well tested and proven marketing method. I must tell you though that (you may have guessed), there can be more expanding, refining, and even adding to those steps. I’ll see to do that in time.

Hitler’s wax model is to return to the Madame Tussauds museum in Berlin, Germany after getting its head ripped off by a 41-year old man who was arrested but subsequently released.
At the grand opening of the museum, the man, currently only known as Frank L., pushed aside two officers who were protecting the exhibit. Yelling “No more war!”, he proceeded to rip off the wax sculpture’s head.
The man was arrested but later released pending investigation. He told the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag he was angry about the exhibit. It has been reported that he had committed the act to win a bet started by his friends at a bar.
The waxwork was criticized around Germany where, generally, Nazi memorabilia or symbols are banned. Critics have argued that it is inappropriate to display a person who started a world war, but the museum has noted that Hitler was an important figure in German history.
The museum has announced its intentions to reinstate the €200,000 (£160,000) model after repairs, which could take weeks.

No one wakes up with the intention of being involved in an auto accident. Many people don’t even think about looking for the Best Auto Frame Shop until after someone runs a red light or skids out of control on a wet road. At that point, finding a shop that can undo the damage to the vehicle suddenly becomes a priority. Here are some tips on how to find a shop that can do the job properly.
Ask About Certifications
As with many types of services, the professionals associated with different auto frame shops study hard to secure certifications relevant to their field. Before entrusting the vehicle to any shop, ask about those certifications. Pay close attention to who grants them, and what type of expertise they indicate. The goal is to only work with a shop who has professionals who are well versed in what it takes to inspect a damaged frame, determine what must be done to make repairs, and how to project the anticipated cost.
Check Local Affiliations
It never hurts to find out what type of local professional organizations that the auto frame shop is associated with. For example, it is reasonable to expect the Best Auto Frame Shop to be a member of the local chamber of commerce. Those local affiliations indicate commitment and dedication to the community, something that anyone living in the area will want to support.
The Attitude of the Team
Attitude is almost as important as the level of expertise that the team at the frame shop brings to the table. The experts at Texas Body & Frame understand just how important the right attitude is when someone is already upset about being in an accident.
When a customer feels as if his or her questions are an imposition, or there is any attempt to hurry through the process without taking the time to talk with the client, that is a good sign that the customer should take the car to a different service. If the team does a thorough inspection, sits down with the client and explains what must be done, and is open to answering any questions, choosing that service makes sense.

State run television in Myanmar has reported that the death toll from the recent cyclone has increased dramatically to 77,738. In addition to this, 55,917 people are still officially missing.
In what are admittedly rough estimates, the United Nations (UN) estimates that more than 100,000 have died, while the International Red Cross projects 128,000 deaths. At least 10,000 people died just in Bogale Township in the Pyapon District of the country.
The United Nations has reported that 2.5 million people are homeless, or in need of help in the Irrawaddy Delta.
The military junta that governs the country says that it can handle relief operations and that they are going well. It is still turning down international offers to transport aid directly to the affected areas. According to state television, Prime Minister Thein Sein said, “We have already finished our first phase of emergency relief. We are going onto the second phase, the rebuilding stage.”
“Time is life,” said Louis Michel, the European Commissioner for Development & Humanitarian Aid to reporters at Bangkok International Airport in Thailand. “No government in the world can tackle such a problem alone. This is a major catastrophe.”
Michel was returning from a trip to Yangon where he was unsuccessful at urging the junta to allow direct aid despite its pride and paranoia about the outside world.
Aid groups, including UN agencies, say only a fraction of the required relief is getting through and, unless the situation improves, thousands more lives are at risk.
According to The New York Times, the United States and some European allies had considered a United Nations Security Council resolution calling for “humanitarian intervention” in Myanmar, which would give authorization for a relief mission without approval of the military authorities in Myanmar. The idea was dismissed after it became clear that China would veto any such resolution.
The US has a assembled number of ships, helicopters, transport airplanes and marines in the region, ready to assist in cyclone relief if given approval by the government of Myanmar. US officials say that helicopters can bring in assistance to areas inland from the coast and further help distribute supplies across the country. Myanmar has approved fewer than 20 cargo planes to bring supplies to the capital, Yangon.
At the United Nations Headquarters, a row occurred when Myanmar’s ambassador to the UN, Kyaw Tint Swe, interrupted the French ambassador Jean-Maurice Ripert during a speech to the General Assembly. He accused France of sending a warship to Myanmar.
“It’s not true,” Ripert said. While the ship is operated by the French Navy, it is not a warship but a ship carrying 1500 tonnes of food and medicine, Ripert insisted. It also has small boats to reach the flooded Irrawaddy Delta. The ship will reach the coast of Myanmar on Saturday, awaiting approval to deliver aid.
Meanwhile, the UN is sending John Holmes, the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, to make contact with Myanmar’s reclusive military leaders to improve UN access to the hardest-hit areas.
According to UN spokesperson, Michèle Montas, Holmes will arrive in Myanmar on Sunday. He will be carrying a letter from Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to Senior General Than Shwe, who has twice previously refused to converse with Ban.

Scottish football team Hibernian F.C. (Hibs) have appointed Pat Fenlon as their new manager. Fenlon signed the contract at Hibs’ Easter Road home ground in the capital, Edinburgh.
| [Hibernian are] a club with a rich history and proud traditions. | ||
Fenlon left Bohemian F.C., an Irish football team he managed since 2008, so that he could manage Hibernian, which he is “really excited by”. Fenlon’s management career has previously remained in his native Ireland. From 2002, Fenlon managed Shelbourne F.C., which won the UEFA Cup in three of the five seasons he managed the team for. Fenlon went on to manage Derby City in 2007 before taking the managing position at Bohemians. According to Fenlon, Hibernian are “a club with a rich history and proud traditions.” Fenlon’s Hibs contract will last until the conclusion of 2013 / 2014 football season.
Hibs have now had five managers in as many years. Colin Calderwood is the most recent before Fenlon, being removed from his position on November 6 after twelve months managing the team. In that time they played in forty-nine matches and won in twelve of them. Calderwood has since gone on to become part of Birmingham City F.C., a football team based in the English city of Birmingham.
At the end of the previous football season, Hibernian F.C. placed tenth. As it stands, the team are currently ninth in the Scottish Premier League table. In reference to what he called the “quality players on Hibernian’s playing staff”, Fenlon stated that “there will need to be a lot of hard work and a clear change in mindset shown collectively by the team” and that a major target for them will be “to provide winning football to the Hibernian supporters, who have gone through some hard times recently.”

Tuesday, March 29, 2005A team of Australian surgeons yesterday reattached both hands and one foot to 10-year-old Perth boy, Terry Vo, after a brick wall which collapsed during a game of basketball fell on him, severing the limbs. The wall gave way while Terry performed a slam-dunk, during a game at a friend’s birthday party.
The boy was today awake and smiling, still in some pain but in good spirits and expected to make a full recovery, according to plastic surgeon, Mr Robert Love.
“What we have is parts that are very much alive so the reattached limbs are certainly pink, well perfused and are indeed moving,” Mr Love told reporters today.
“The fact that he is moving his fingers, and of course when he wakes up he will move both fingers and toes, is not a surprise,” Mr Love had said yesterday.
“The question is more the sensory return that he will get in the hand itself and the fine movements he will have in the fingers and the toes, and that will come with time, hopefully. We will assess that over the next 18 months to two years.
“I’m sure that he’ll enjoy a game of basketball in the future.”
The weight and force of the collapse, and the sharp brick edges, resulted in the three limbs being cut through about 7cm above the wrists and ankle.
Terry’s father Tan said of his only child, the injuries were terrible, “I was scared to look at him, a horrible thing.”
The hands and foot were placed in an ice-filled Esky and rushed to hospital with the boy, where three teams of medical experts were assembled, and he was given a blood transfusion after experiencing massive blood loss. Eight hours of complex micro-surgery on Saturday night were followed by a further two hours of skin grafts yesterday.
“What he will lose because it was such a large zone of traumatised skin and muscle and so on, he will lose some of the skin so he’ll certainly require lots of further surgery regardless of whether the skin survives,” said Mr Love said today.
The boy was kept unconscious under anaesthetic between the two procedures. In an interview yesterday, Mr Love explained why:
“He could have actually been woken up the next day. Because we were intending to take him back to theatre for a second look, to look at the traumatised skin flaps, to close more of his wounds and to do split skin grafting, it was felt the best thing to do would be to keep him stable and to keep him anaesthetised.”
Professor Wayne Morrison, director of the respected Bernard O’Brien Institute of Microsurgery and head of plastic and hand surgery at Melbourne’s St Vincent’s Hospital, said he believed the operation to be a world first.

Few artists ever penetrate the subconscious level of American culture the way RuPaul Andre Charles did with the 1993 album Supermodel of the World. It was groundbreaking not only because in the midst of the Grunge phenomenon did Charles have a dance hit on MTV, but because he did it as RuPaul, formerly known as Starbooty, a supermodel drag queen with a message: love everyone. A duet with Elton John, an endorsement deal with MAC cosmetics, an eponymous talk show on VH-1 and roles in film propelled RuPaul into the new millennium.
In July, RuPaul’s movie Starrbooty began playing at film festivals and it is set to be released on DVD October 31st. Wikinews reporter David Shankbone recently spoke with RuPaul by telephone in Los Angeles, where she is to appear on stage for DIVAS Simply Singing!, a benefit for HIV-AIDS.
DS: How are you doing?
DS: How do you like Los Angeles?
DS: Me? I’m from all over. I have lived in 17 cities, six states and three countries.
DS: Georgia, in a small town at the bottom of Fulton County called Palmetto.
DS: Do you miss Atlanta?
DS: What did that signify to you?
DS: In 2004 when you released your third album, Red Hot, it received a good deal of play in the clubs and on dance radio, but very little press coverage. On your blog you discussed how you felt betrayed by the entertainment industry and, in particular, the gay press. What happened?
DS: Do you mean as court jesters?
DS: Everything you are?
DS: It seems like years ago, and my recollection might be fuzzy, but it seems like I read a mainstream media piece that talked about how you wanted to break out of the RuPaul ‘character’ and be seen as more than just RuPaul.
DS: That you wanted to be seen as more than just RuPaul the drag queen, but also for the man and versatile artist that you are.
DS: What keeps people from knowing the difference between what is real and important, and what is not?
DS: Recently I interviewed Natasha Khan of the band Bat for Lashes, and she is considered by many to be one of the real up-and-coming artists in music today. Her band was up for the Mercury Prize in England. When I asked her where she drew inspiration from, she mentioned what really got her recently was the 1960’s and 70’s psychedelic drag queen performance art, such as seen in Jack Smith and the Destruction of Atlantis, The Cockettes and Paris Is Burning. What do you think when you hear an artist in her twenties looking to that era of drag performance art for inspiration?
DS: You think her answer was contrived?
DS: Has the Iraq War affected you at all?
DS: Do you think there is a lot of apathy in the culture?
DS: Do you ever work the current political culture into your art?
DS: What do you think of young performance artists working in drag today?
DS: Michael Musto told me something that was opposite of what you said. He said he felt that the younger gays, the ones who are up-and-coming, are over the body fascism and more willing to embrace their feminine sides.

The U.S. Senate is debating the 2007 budget this week, dealing with, among many things, controversial issues such as the oil drilling in Alaska, raising the national debt ceiling, and an amendment that would fund $1.5 million dollars to veterans’ health-care. The Senate is also considering budget measures over an amendment that would increase funding for local and state law enforcement to combat methamphetamine.
The national debt ceiling is supposed to prevent the U.S. public debt from growing to excessive amounts. If the national debt grows to reach beyond a previously budgeted ceiling level, branches of government are shut down and provide only limited services. The shut down force a reduction in spending. The measure is meant to prevent excessive amounts of national debt from occurring. Rather than letting the level of national debt approach that ceiling, it is typical practice within the U.S. Congress to raise the national debt ceiling annually.
The $781 billion increase asked for this year is the fourth hike request in the last five years. Bush administration budgets have pushed debt ceiling increase request to a level of 46% higher over five years, a $3 trillion increase.
Senator Judd Gregg, Budget Committee Chairman, argued in favor of increasing the ceiling, citing growths in the economy under the Bush administration. Kent Conrad, ranking Democrat member of the Budget Committee, rebutted that the economy has not been recovering as well as it has been after World War II and six other similar recovery periods, and that the economic period after World War II averaged 3.2% in growth.
A “PAYGO” amendment by Conrad Burns would have required offsetts for any new spending beyond the original resolution. It failed, needing 51 votes, but receiving 50. Lincoln Chafee’s amendment would increase funding by $2 billion for the Americans with Disabilities Act.
